On behalf of the Swiss Committee for the Properties of Water and Steam (SCPWS), we want to thank everybody who attended and contributed to the discussion at the International Conference of Film Forming Amines and Products in Lucerne, Switzerland. The conference was a big success, which was reflected in the immense enthusiasm and willingness to share new ideas and suggestions. We are also proud to have received a wide variety of participants, representing 20 countries from all over the world, who provided many different points of view. Therefore, we are confident that the findings of the discussion on the topic, will be a great asset to our community.
This first International Conference on Film Forming Amines and Products, marked the successful commencement of a new conference series regarding this topic. Upon completion of this event, the SCPWS has formally allocated the organizational responsibilities for future conferences to the IAPWS and its Steering Committee, chaired by Barry Dooley. The IAPWS and its Steering Committee have already confirmed the next International Conference on Film Forming Amines and Products, which is provisionally scheduled for April 2018. However, the exact dates and location of the next conference venue have yet to be confirmed.

WHO WE ARE
The Swiss Committee for the Properties of Water and Steam (SCPWS) is a scientific association founded in 2007. SCPWS aims to advance the knowledge in the properties of water, steam and aqueous systems, particularly those of interest to thermal power plants and other industrial applications. SCPWS is the leading representative body for power plant chemistry in Switzerland.
The SCPWS is an independent and non-profit making organization. Our goal is to unite all relevant stakeholders such as universities, research institutes and industrial companies under one roof and allowing knowledge to be shared amongst engineers, scientists, academics and industry.
Our activities include the organizing of meetings, symposia and conferences in order to share and exchange knowledge and expand the personal networks of our members. We also maintain relations with national and international associations and organizations of the power and water industry.
We are affiliated to the International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS) and share objectives to advance knowledge in common areas of interest.
The SCPWS represents the National Committee for Switzerland which acts as one of the smaller national entities within the body and framework of IAPWS.
The IAPWS is a non-profit association of national organizations concerned with the properties of water and steam, particularly thermo-physical properties, cycle chemistry and other aspects that are relevant to thermal power cycles and other industrial applications.
The objectives of IAPWS include:
To share information and experiences between researchers and engineers, IAPWS holds annual meetings in combination with international conferences at 4 to 5 year intervals.
Further information on IAPWS as well as Technical Guidance Documents that have been issued on power plant chemistry can be found at www.iapws.org
